Under the direction of the Supervising Transportation Engineer oversees the staff that plans, maintains, and operates the traffic signals, ramp meters and associated computer and communications systems within Riverside County. A valid California drivers license, and CHP security clearance to enter the TMC is required.
The incumbent will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial light. However, due to periodic problems with the heating and air conditioning, the building temperature may fluctuate. Employee is working in an office and is required to travel to work sites related to the job. Overtime may be required and vacations may be restricted during peak times. The incumbent will be required to travel to meetings and provide training in classroom settings in other office buildings or sites and may be exposed to uneven surfaces, noise and varying temperatures. The incumbent may occasionally travel out of state. This position may be required to telework from home in addition to office work at an assigned location. The amount and availability of telework and/or office work will be determined by the Department based on the functions of each position. Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment. This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy.
