**Description** PeaceHealth is seeking a Child Care Attendant - Child Care Center for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $16.76 - $25.16. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. **Job Summary** Under the direction of the manager/supervisor, this position assists in providing for the physical, emotional and instructional needs of infant, toddler, and school-age children. This may include tasks such as dressing, feeding, providing basic instruction and overseeing play. **Essential Functions** + Demonstrates creativity and resourcefulness in planning and implementing child activity programs that follow established guidelines. + Assists in providing for all basic needs of the children at the center. + Demonstrates concern for the personal differences between individuals in relationship to their needs, interests, development and capabilities. + Orients parents/family members in regard to policies and procedures of center and maintains positive rapport with all parents and patrons. + Participates in continuing education to ensure caregiver effectiveness and to maintain certification. + Ensures safe play conditions and follows established safety procedures. + Provides a clean, well maintained and safe play area. + Performs other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** **Education** + High School Diploma Required: or equivalent and + Preferred: Course work in Early Childhood Education or completion of Child Development Associate **Experience** + Minimum of 1 year Preferred: Working with children in a day care, elementary school or similar setting **Credentials** + Required: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation or AED Certification required with specific training in CPR for infants and children and + Required: First Aid **Skills** + Knowledge of basic childcare and feeding, as well as understanding of infant and child development. (Required) + Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with children, staff and parents. (Required) + Computer experience (Preferred) + Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions. (Required) + Ability to move and react quickly to a variety of circumstances. (Required) **Department / Location Specific Notes** **Working Conditions** Lifting + Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures. + Child Care Attendant: Ability to move around area with occasional sitting. Lift/carrying: Occasional up to 25 lbs. Push/pull: Occasional up to 50 lbs. force. + Frequent bending/ kneeling/ squatting/ stooping/ reaching/ grasping. + Occasional push/pull up to 50 lbs. force. + Occasional reaching/ bending/ stooping/ squatting/ crouching/ kneeling/ grasping. + Security: Ability to move around area with occasional sitting. Continuous moving around area. Lifting/carrying: Frequent up to 10 lbs. Occasional up to 50 lbs. Environmental Conditions + Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. + Child Care Attendant: Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. + Exposure to outside temperatures (seasonal). + Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. + Security: Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting. Mental/Visual + Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted). + Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
