Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) located in the San Luis Obispo Office (SLO), the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) works in the San Luis Obispo District Office. The SSA coordinates a variety of activities for the Registration and Titling (R&T) Program which includes providing consultation services to the public, management and staff within the Division on complex aspects of change of ownership including transfers, private sales, default notice and change of situs address, among other actions. 

GEO PAY= $250.00 / MONTH

BILINGUAL PAY= $200.00 / MONTH

This position requires you to work in the office every day, five days a week.

Special Requirements

HCD Disclosure Requirements

Selected candidates may be subject to rules imposed by a Conflict of Interest Code that apply to HCD employees, which may require filing a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700).

HCD conducts pre-employment background checks on all new to HCD or returning to HCD candidates. This position requires a background check to be conducted in California and  cleared prior to being hired.

Per CCR 249.3, this job control may be used to fill subsequent vacancies.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Spanish bilingual preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide range of people
• Experience with computers (data entry)
• Customer service experience and/ or working with the public
• Ability to handle detailed and diversified work
• Experience in troubleshooting issues
• Experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Experience drafting letters, memos and/or correspondence

Statement of Qualifications

Interested individuals must submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) in addition to the standard state application (form STD 678). Your SOQ will be considered the first interview for this position. Cover letters and resumes do not take the place of the SOQ. When completing the SOQ, number your responses, include all relevant experience, education, and training, as applicable, and explain all answers thoroughly.  Your SOQ should not excee d two pages, single-spaced, Arial 12-point font and address the following:

1. Describe an example of outstanding customer service that you provided to a customer. 

1. Describe a situation in which you had to interpret complex statutes, regulations and procedures to provide simple instructions to the public.
