Join us in serving those who have served! The Salisbury VA Health Care Center Medicine Services division is seeking a dedicated Nephrology Program Manager to make a difference in the lives of our nation’s heroes.

Duties

Clinical:

  • Provides high-quality, patient-centered care to both inpatients and outpatients across adult age groups (18-65 and 65+), practicing at two sites: the VA Health Care Center in South Charlotte and the main Salisbury campus.
  • Maintains clinical privileges within his/her area of expertise and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and effective discharge planning.
  • Preferred experience or interest in managing renal transplant patients (post-transplant follow-up) and in-home dialysis modalities, particularly peritoneal dialysis, with plans to develop a home dialysis program.
  • Demonstrates sound clinical and administrative decision-making, serves as a staff attending for subspecialty consults, participates in peer review and multidisciplinary activities, and leads initiatives to improve patient care based on current research and best practices.
  • Completes all medical documentation accurately and timely in CPRS, actively involves patients and families in care planning, and applies advanced clinical judgment to assess, diagnose, and develop individualized care plans for complex renal patients.

Administrative:

Preferred Experience

  • This position involves approximately 50-60% of the time at the HCC in South Charlotte.
  • One day per week will be dedicated to clinic at the Salisbury VA Medical Center, with a rotating schedule of one week out of every four or five for on-call duties in Salisbury.
  • Candidates with renal transplant management experience or a strong interest in renal transplantation are highly preferred, as they will assist with that patient population.
  • Additionally, we are in the process of developing a home dialysis program, specifically peritoneal dialysis, so experience or familiarity with home dialysis modalities would be a valuable asset.

  • Hold a full, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. State
  • Completion of an accredited residency in a core specialty.
  • U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be considered when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA policy.
