Job Title: Commercial Roofing Superintendent
Location: Birmingham, AL
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Commercial Roofing Superintendent to lead on-site roofing operations. This role involves overseeing multiple commercial roofing projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and with the highest quality. The ideal candidate brings deep roofing expertise, strong project management skills, and a hands-on leadership approach.

• High School Diploma or equivalent ( required )

• Preferred: OSHA 30-Hour Certification, Manufacturer Roofing Certifications, or other construction management training

• Minimum 4 years of commercial roofing experience ; Superintendent experience strongly preferred

• In-depth knowledge of commercial roofing systems including TPO, EPDM, PVC, BUR, metal, and steep slope roofing

• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction documents, and specifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple active job sites while upholding high safety and quality standards

• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions

• Capable of standing, walking, climbing ladders/scaffolding, and lifting heavy materials for extended periods

• Must be able to work at heights and navigate rooftops safely

• Supervise all on-site roofing activities: installation, repair, maintenance

• Ensure project timelines, budget compliance, and quality targets are met

• Oversee daily performance of crews, subcontractors, and laborers

• Align daily operations with Project Manager and General Superintendent

• Enforce manufacturer specifications, code requirements, and safety guidelines

• Address and resolve quality or compliance issues promptly

• Review and upload job-site documentation and checklists daily

• Verify proper daily tie-in completion and documentation

• Provide real-time updates to the production department

• Communicate clearly with clients, project managers, and team members

• Enforce OSHA and company safety policies on site

• Conduct daily toolbox safety talks

• Identify hazards, perform safety inspections, and enforce PPE usage

• Document any incidents or corrective actions taken

• Ensure all tools, materials, and equipment are accounted for and in working condition

• Monitor usage and inventory; coordinate with PM on replenishment

• Oversee site cleanliness and report any equipment issues

• Maintain daily logs, safety inspections, progress reports, and change order documentation

• Report status updates on project schedules, milestones, and job site conditions

• Track and report safety incidents, delays, and on-site challenges

• Balance time equally across multiple job sites (e.g., 2 3 hours per site for 3 jobs/day)

• Adjust time allocation based on project complexity, urgency, and priority issues

• Commercial roofing systems and installation standards

• Project supervision and field coordination

• Job site safety practices and OSHA compliance

• Blueprint and spec interpretation

• Job site reporting and field documentation
