**Job Overview**
We are seeking a skilled Structural Plate Fitter to fabricate and assemble metal products like frameworks, machinery shells, ovens, tanks, ductwork, handrails, platforms, and parts for industrial equipment. This role involves working from job orders, verbal instructions, and blueprints.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
+ **Shift Hours:** 6am - 2:30pm, Monday through Friday
+ **Safety and Efficiency:** Operate safely and efficiently
+ **Verification:** Ensure workpieces meet specifications using measuring tools
+ **Blueprint Reading:** Read and interpret blueprints
+ **Assembly:** Assemble parts via tack welding or bolting
+ **Mathematical Skills:** Perform math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and trigonometry
+ **Inspection:** Inspect layout lines and center punch pipes and cylinders before fitting
+ **Fitting:** Ensure fit-up gaps are within tolerance
+ **Cleaning:** Clean all dog marks and broken tacks before QC inspection
+ **Welding:** Apply weld symbols and lay out skip welds
+ **Fabrication and Housekeeping:** Assist in fabrication and maintain a clean work area
+ **Teamwork:** Work overtime as needed and be a good team player
+ **Material Handling:** Perform material handling and coordinate with other departments
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience: 5+ years as a structural plate fitter or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Education: High school diploma/GED; one-year certificate from college or technical school preferred
+ Skills: Ability to follow policies, read and interpret documents, knowledge of mathematical principles, time management, communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently, proactive, strong work ethics, problem-solving skills, and technical capacity
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
